Nigerian man shares his experience with two ‘almajiri’ talking stages

A viral social media post by user @the_Lawrenz has reignited online discussions around the challenges of modern dating, as screenshots of a private message humorously detail a string of disappointing encounters in what the sender described as “talking stages.”

In the message, the sender, whose identity remains anonymous, lamented that he had to block two potential romantic interests within 48 hours. According to the post, one of the ladies m allegedly asked for financial help to pay off a debt with FairMoney before she could “truly activate her lover girl side.” The second claimed her phone was broken and that she was sharing a device with a friend, suggesting she needed assistance to repair or replace it.

The message, filled with emojis and colloquial Nigerian Pidgin, ended with frustration over what the sender described as a pattern of “grown girls” making questionable demands. “Congratulations on your love story. I think I’ll just pass on these ones left,” the sender concluded, adding, “Because why are they single in 2025 if no be bad character?”
